Privacy Policy

Wat Kham ("the app") is developed by Jonathan Delaire. This privacy policy explains what data the app collects, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.

The short version: Wat Kham stores your study data on your device. We do not collect personal information, do not run analytics, and do not share data with third parties.

Data Stored on Your Device

All app data is stored locally on your iPhone. This includes:

• Review history and scheduling state — your card grades, review dates, and spaced repetition intervals
• Streak data — your current streak count, longest streak, and completion dates
• Preferences — your selected learning direction, daily new card limit, reminder time, and other settings
• Daily reminder schedule — the time you've chosen for notifications

This data is not transmitted to any server. It exists only on your device and in your device's local backups (e.g., iCloud device backups managed by Apple).

User Accounts

Wat Kham does not require or offer user accounts. There is no sign-up, no login, and no user profile. You use the app entirely without creating an account.

Analytics and Tracking

Wat Kham does not collect analytics. We do not use any analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, or tracking tools. No usage data, session data, or behavioral data is collected or transmitted.

Third-Party Services

Wat Kham does not integrate with third-party services for data collection or advertising. The only external service the app communicates with is:

• Apple StoreKit — used to process in-app purchases and verify purchase entitlements. This communication is handled entirely by Apple's frameworks. We do not operate a server that receives purchase data. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles transaction data.

In-App Purchases

Wat Kham offers a single one-time in-app purchase ("Full Access") processed through Apple's App Store. Purchase transactions are managed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information, Apple Account details, or transaction identifiers on any server we operate.

Your purchase entitlement is verified locally on your device through Apple's StoreKit framework.

Notifications

Wat Kham can send local notifications as daily review reminders. These notifications are:

• Scheduled entirely on your device
• Not sent through any external push notification service
• Configurable — you can enable, disable, or change the reminder time in the app's settings
• Removable — you can revoke notification permission at any time in your device's Settings

We do not use push notifications, do not operate a notification server, and do not collect device tokens.

Text-to-Speech

The app uses Apple's built-in text-to-speech engine (AVSpeechSynthesizer) to pronounce Thai text on card reveal. Speech synthesis happens entirely on your device. No text is sent to external servers for this feature.

Children's Privacy

Wat Kham is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the app collects no personal information from any user, no special children's data protections are necessary.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all Wat Kham data at any time by deleting the app. Uninstalling the app removes all stored review history, streak data, and preferences from your device.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page with a new effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
